SIYHA House Registration is Open
Welcome to South Indy Sharks House Hockey registration. House hockey focuses on developing players skating and hockey skills. Our house program will consist of two ice touches per week at Perry Park. Jerseys, with last name on them, are included as are one set of hockey socks. We ask that players be able to skate without using anything for support and be able to get up off the ice on their own. Our friends at Sycamore Ice Skating Club have partnered with us to offer Learn to Skate 6 week sessions for skaters wanting to get the basics down before joining house hockey. If necessary, learn to skate can be done early in the season and upon completion of the session then join a hockey team that has availability. Our 10U, 12U and 14U teams will participate in the 317 House Hockey League, generally on Saturday mornings. Half of the league games will be played at Perry Park. The other half will be played at Carmel, Fishers or Pop Weaver rinks. 6U and 8U will play in several game jamborees as they become available.
We have changed jersey vendors. Jerseys now take at maximum of 4 weeks to receive. We will be placing two house jersey orders. Those registered before Sept 1 will have their jerseys ordered immediately and should have them by Oct 2. Those registering after Sept 1 will have their jerseys ordered Oct 1 and should have their jerseys by Nov 1.
The season will begin on Monday Oct 2, 2023 and run through Sunday March 3, 2024.
6U (2018 & 2017 birth years) and 8U (2015 & 2016 birth years) players will practice together Mondays at 5:30pm-6:20pm and Fridays at 6:20pm-7:10pm. These teams will also participate in various game jamborees throughout the season as they come available. One jersey and socks are included.
10U (2013 & 2014 birth years) players will practice on Fridays at 7:10pm-8:10pm and on Saturday’s will participate in the 317 House Hockey League. Half of the 317 league games will be played at Perry Park this year.Two jerseys and socks are included. We are forecasting at least two 10U teams and they will all share the ice together.
12U (2011 & 2012 birth years) players will practice on Mondays at 6:20pm-7:20pm and share the ice with 14U House. On Saturdays they will participate in the 317 House Hockey League. Half of the 317 league games will be played at Perry Park this year. Two jerseys and socks are included.
14U (2009 & 2010 birth years) players will practice on Mondays at 6:20pm-7:20pm and share the ice with 12U House. On Saturdays they will participate in the 317 House Hockey League. Half of the 317 league games will be played at Perry Park this year. Two jerseys and socks are included.
We are forecasting two 10U teams, one 12U team and one 14U team at this time. The practice schedule was built using this forecast and is set up to maximize ice time for players. The practice time and days are subject to change if player counts widely vary from the forecast.
