Girls' Hockey Clinic Recap

Each year, South Indy Youth Hockey Association (SIYHA) remains committed to growing girls’ youth hockey in Indianapolis by creating opportunities for young athletes to be surrounded by, learn from, and be inspired by other female players and coaches.

On December 22, 2025, the SIYHA Girls Program proudly welcomed Nicole Konsdorf to Perry Park Ice Rink for a FREE all-girls hockey clinic. The event brought together 28 girls from across the greater Indianapolis area, all eager to develop their skills and connect with others who share their love for the game.

The clinic featured on-ice instruction led by Nicole, with support from three South Stars High School Hockey players, who helped run drills and served as powerful role models for the next generation. From skill development to encouragement and mentorship, the day highlighted what is possible when girls are given the chance to learn in an environment built specifically for them.

Our goal at SIYHA is to continually provide opportunities for girls to be inspired and learn from other females in the sport. On-ice representation matters, especially for players who often compete on co-ed teams. Seeing women and girls leading drills, offering guidance, and sharing their hockey journeys reinforces confidence and belonging for young athletes.

SIYHA is grateful to Nicole Konsdorf, the South Stars players, and every participant who made this clinic a success. Events like this are a vital part of our mission to grow the girls’ game and ensure that every player feels supported, inspired, and empowered—both on and off the ice.

ABOUT Nicole Konsdorf

Nicole began her hockey journey at just three years old in Saginaw, Michigan, where she first learned to navigate the ice playing in local boys’ house leagues. Her passion for the game continued to grow, leading her to join the Freeland High School boys’ hockey team as a defenseman during her sophomore year.

Nicole elevated her play by joining the HoneyBaked 19U Girls AAA team in Detroit during the 2007–08 seasons. This pivotal period sharpened her skills and showcased her dedication and talent to scouts nationwide. Her hard work earned her a scholarship to the Lindenwood University Women’s ACHA Division I program, where she played from 2008 to 2011.

During her three years at Lindenwood, Nicole was part of an exceptional team that captured back-to-back national championships and earned a third-place national finish. In 2011, she received the honor of being selected to play for Team USA at the World University Games.

In 2021, Nicole transitioned from player to mentor, beginning her coaching career to share her knowledge, experience, and passion for the game with the next generation. She started with the Lady Liberty ADM program from 2021–2023, stepped into the 10U Elite AA head coach role in 2023, and currently coaches the 12U Elite team.

Nicole’s journey—from young skater to collegiate athlete to dedicated coach—has been defined by challenges, achievements, and invaluable lessons. As a coach, she remains committed to inspiring, developing, and guiding young athletes to reach their full potential both on and off the ice.
