Skill Development Clinics

This 30-minute Powerskating clinic is instructor-led and designed for Hockey players to focus on edgework, stopping, and speed. Beginner classes are ideal for House Hockey Players and those with less than 3 years of hockey experience, whereas Advanced is ideal for those with 3 or more years of hockey experience. Each Session will be held at Perry Park. Class sizes are limited, so don't wait to sign up!

*This is not a learn to skate class, and all skaters are expected to be able to skate forwards, backwards, and hockey stop. Sticks and Pucks will not be used, but all protective gear, including helmets, mouth guards, and neck guards are required.

The class instructor reserves the right to place the skater in the proper skating cohort if deemed necessary.

Instructor Taylor: Taylor Burdekin is a former competitive figure skater who transitioned into Short Track Speed Skating, where she went on to compete internationally, earn a National Championship title, and qualify for the 2018 Olympic Trials. Today, she coaches the Full Throttle Speed Skating Team and Stars Skating Academy, specializing in long-term athlete development, advanced skating skills, power skating, and comprehensive off-ice training. With experience across multiple disciplines of skating, Taylor brings a unique technical foundation and performance-driven mindset to every athlete she works with.

Instructor Alex: Alex Burdekin is a Western New York native with a diverse and competitive hockey background. He developed his game playing prep school hockey before advancing to play Juniors in Utah, where he competed against top-tier talent and refined his high-level skill set. He continued his career competing at the NCAA D3 collegiate level, gaining experience and later playing internationally in Germany. With experience across prep, junior, international, and NCAA hockey, Alex brings a well-rounded perspective and a deep understanding of player development to every session.
