Have a kid who’s curious about hockey?
This Try Hockey for Free event is designed to provide kids ages 4 to 9 the opportunity to try hockey in a FUN, safe environment with trained coaching staff.
No experience necessary! There will be plenty of assistance on hand to be sure your child has the best first hockey experience and answer any questions you might have.
Join us on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 2:15 PM to 3:45 PM at Perry Park Ice Rink for our annual event for new hockey families to try out the sport—for free!
Presented by the South Indy Youth Hockey Association, in partnership with USA Hockey’s Try Hockey for Free initiative, this event offers a fun, safe, and engaging introduction to ice hockey for kids.
FREE to participate – no experience needed!
Ages 4–9 – perfect for brand-new players
Equipment provided – skates, helmets, and gloves available to borrow
Fun on-ice instruction – led by certified coaches & volunteers
