South Indy 12U Sharks Crowned Brickyard Division State Champions
The South Indy 12U Sharks capped off an incredible weekend at the Brickyard Governors Cup (Indiana State Tournament) by doing what every team dreams of—bringing home the State Title. With grit, depth, and clutch performances in every game, the Sharks battled their way through a tough field and finished the tournament as Brickyard Division State Champions.
From strong starts to shutout goaltending and an overtime championship thriller, this was a run to remember.
Game 1: Statement Win
The Sharks opened the tournament with confidence, earning a 5–1 win over Evansville. After a strong first period, the offense exploded in the second with goals from Hunter Herring (#97) (2), Case Brinker (#4) (2), and Tycen Stucker (#3). The Sharks set the tone early, showing they were ready to compete for a title.
Game 2: Defense and Discipline
Game two was a grind, but the Sharks stayed locked in and earned a 2–0 shutout win over Columbus. Big third-period goals from Ryan Buda (#29) and Hunter Herring (#97) sealed the victory.
Between the pipes, Rowan Boesgaard was outstanding, dominating the game and earning a well-deserved shutout.
Game 3: Grit Under Pressure
The semifinal matchup tested the Sharks, but they rose to the challenge with a hard-fought 3–2 win over the Irish. Noah Delello (#98) led the way with two goals, while Hunter Herring (#97) added the game-winner.
Ian Czap came up big in goal, making key saves and securing the win to send the Sharks to the championship game.
Championship Game: Overtime Glory
In true Sharks fashion, the championship came down to the wire—and beyond. With relentless effort and teamwork, the Sharks battled into overtime and found the finish to claim the win and the title.
12U are officially Brickyard Division State Champions.
